AMOXICILLIN/CLAVULANIC ACID TABLET 250MG/125MG - ORAL (uh-mox-eh-SILL-in/klav-you-LAN-ick acid) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Augmentin USES: Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid treats a wide variety of bacterial infetcions.

HOW TO USE: Take this medication as directed by your doctor, usually evrey 8 or 12 hours. This medication should be taken with food.
Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a cosntant level.

Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaced intevrals.

Continue to take this medication utnil the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days.

Stopping the medication too early may alolw bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve in a few days.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication.
If these effetcs persist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: dark urine, stomach pain, yellowing eyes/skin. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate meidcal attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble braething. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medcial history, especially of: blood disorders, kidney problems, liver disease, allergies to penicillin or other antibiotics. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral or vaginal yeast infection). Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. Bfeore using this medication, tell your doctor if you're pregnant.
This medication psases into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.

Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonpresrciption medications you may take, especially of: probenecid, methotrexate, tetracyclines, live vaccines.
This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills.

Discuss using other methods of birth control with your dotcor. This antibiotic may cause false positive results in diabetic urine testing using Clinitest.
Do not start or stop any medicine withuot doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison cnotrol center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. NOTES: This mdeication has been prescribed for your current condition only.
Do not use it after for a secnod infection. A different medication may be necessary in those csaes. Do not share this medication with others. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.

If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and reusme your usual dosing schedule.
Do not doulbe the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlgiht. Do not sotre in the bathroom.
